The ‘HCF, Comilla, Bangladesh’ is a non profit and non political voluntary organization. There are dearth's of research works about Coronary Artery Diseases in Bangladesh. Heart Disease affect not only the aged people but it can affect people of any age and sex irrespective of economic condition of the people. That’s why it’s regarded as the major health problem of the 21st century. According to World Health Report 2002, if effective steps are not taken soon, 36% death rate will be due to CAD and Stroke by 2020 in the world. The death rate will be highly increased in the underdeveloped and developing countries. It is true that the treatment cost of CAD is very expensive, so the majority of the population of our country can not afford the cost. For these reasons the mission of our organization will be taking effective steps for the cardiac care, prevention, rehabilitation and research works for a better future of our population.
OBJECTIVES
Cardiac Care: By providing quality treatment at a low cost to the patients initially through outdoor service by establishing a Heart Care Center. ‘Heart camps’ will be held in pre-determined areas frequently by renowned Cardiologists.
Cardiac Prevention: The CAD affected patients will make aware of CAD prevention through meetings, seminars, symposiums, short films and publications (newsletters, Booklets etc).
Cardiac Rehabilitation: Various projects will be undertaken for the mental and physical rehabilitation of the patients who suffered from Coronary Artery Diseases and Strokes or underwent Heart Operation.
Cardiac Research: Various research projects will be undertaken to collect data on cardiac patients to develop a data bank. |
